I love making personalised jewellery or custom pieces for clients.
Jewellery can be personalised by choosing particular stones that resonate for you, or I can personalise the boxes they come in with your own message.
I can also custom make individual pieces to your requirements, perhaps re-using an old or inherited piece of jewellery that has sentimental attachments.
How the process works:
First of all you tell me roughly what your thoughts are, and I give you an idea of cost and time scale. Then, if you’re happy with that, working together through emails and photographs we decide what the final design is. I may make up a sample or source a special stone. I’ve even been known photograph stones beside sweetie wrappers so you can get exactly the colour you want.
When you’re happy, I draw up a final specification. At this stage I need 50% of the final price as a non-refundable deposit to cover all my material costs.
I then make the piece or pieces. When the final 50% has been paid, I send them off to you and you’re hopefully delighted!
Sarah made the jewellery for my sisters wedding day, and it was just the cherry on the cake of a really great day. I first met Sarah in St Ives at a craft fair. The weather wasn’t great that day and I was bedraggled and hassled by the kids. I stopped at Sarah’s stall and noticed the lovely ‘expensive’ looking jewellery. I spoke with her and she was so lovely and seemed really passionate about gemstones (as am I). I was really impressed about her knowledge, passion and how she talked honestly about finding bad and good suppliers through trial and error over 30 years of developing her passion for jewellery making. I wasn’t in the mood for buying but I squirrelled away her card with my sister’s wedding very much in mind. So, my sister had chosen lilac and we’d agreed that flowers accessories etc. would be shades of purple, lilac, white. Sarah very obligingly made up 5 different designs for us to choose from, there was a clear front runner, all was going well on the bridesmaid jewellery. The bride’s jewellery as you would expect had a rockier road; my sister wanted lilac pearls, but not just any old lilac pearls, oval ones…. Sarah pulled on her suppliers, and kindly said nothing about the round ones she’d already procured, and produced the most stunning, modest, elegant bridal earrings and bracelet befitting the dress. They perfectly complimented the colour scheme! Sarah indulged the bridesmaid’s debate and discussion (with good humour), and then met the bride’s requirements though they were not made clear from the onset, Sarah made up the bracelet lengths to suit each individual, Sarah even personalised the boxes. Oh and the cost, lets talk about that! As far as I am concerned Sarah is the best value for money I’ve ever had. You might consider the jewellery ‘pricy’ but considering the gemstones are AAAA quality for Jaipur, the jewellery is handmade, well the price is damn good value. High street stores charge more for mediocre quality items. I would recommend Sarah to anyone, especially if you are looking for personalised bridal jewellery. I have contacted her since to make up personalised birthstone jewellery for birthday present gifts. Sarah is brilliant at commissions.
